SUMMARY:Tamworth - Community Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
DESCRIPTION:A program of song\, story and reflection. \nOur featured speaker\, Chuck Collins\, is senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies\, where he directs the Program on Inequality and the Common Good. A nationally-recognized expert on income and wealth inequality and the racial wealth divide\, he has authored and co-authored a number of books\, including “99 to 1: How Wealth Inequality is Wrecking the World and What We Can Do About It” and\, most recently\, “Born on Third Base: A One Percenter Makes the Case for Tackling Inequality\, Bringing Wealth Home\, and Committing to the Common Good.” He co-founded United for a Fair Economy and Wealth for the Common Good (which subsequently merged in 2015 with the Patriotic Millionaires.).His talk is entitled “Fifty Years Later: Dr. King’s Vision and the Racial Wealth Divide”. \nAlso included in the program will be music by members of the Potluck Singers and the Silver Lake Singers\, and Shana Aisenberg. Storyteller (and World Fellowship Co-Director) Andy Davis will offer a story.
