We will consider Black women’s leadership and activism in a variety of social and political arenas—the classroom\, the courtroom\, business and economics\, technology\, the environment\, the arts\, religion\, government\, and others. \nFor more information\, email info@blackheritagetrailnh.org

SUMMARY:Online - Finding Home: Portraits and Memories of Immigrants
DESCRIPTION:This event is sponsored by Bookery Manchester\, FieldWork Photos\, and Welcoming Manchester.\n\nFINDING HOME: Portraits and Memories of Immigrants is a newly released book of photographs and stories that celebrates immigrants who resettled in New Hampshire. Since 2012 photographer Becky Field has illustrated cultural diversity through her photographs. Now in addition to photos\, she interviewed 40 immigrant families about life in their country and their journeys to the Granite State. The immigrants’ stories\, in their own words\, show the determination of people to find a new home\, while Becky’s photos show the vitality of cultural diversity that adds to our communities. During this online event\, Becky will talk about her work and will be joined by two immigrants\, from Russia and Ethiopia\, to share about their journey.\nFINDING HOME can be purchased at the Bookery Manchester or online (DifferentRootsNH.com). Becky donates all net profits from book sales to nonprofits that support immigrants and refugees.\n\nThis event is sponsored by Bookery Manchester\, FieldWork Photos\, and Welcoming Manchester. Welcoming Manchester is an organization that strives to bridge the gap between new immigrants and the receiving community – those who have been here long enough to welcome others. We join Welcoming cities all over the country in celebrating the contributions of our immigrant friends during Welcoming Week (Sept 12-20\, 2020).
