SUMMARY:21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge (Online)
DESCRIPTION:2020 Racial Equity Challenge! March 30 through April 19\, 2020. \nThe 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge (aka the Racial Equity Challenge) is simple! \nYou (along with thousands of other people across the US) commit to deepening your understanding of\, and willingness to confront\, racism for twenty-one consecutive days. At the very least\, the Challenge will raise your awareness. But for many participants it goes beyond that and changes they way they see and interact with the world. \nFor more information and to register\, visit: https://foodsolutionsne.org/21-day-racial-equity-habit-building-challenge/ \nWhat exactly happens during the Challenge?\nDuring every morning of the Challenge\, you’ll receive an email “prompt” with a short reading\, video or audio file. You are encouraged to take about ten to fifteen minutes each day with the material in the prompt\, though we will provide extra resources in case you want to dig further into the day’s topic. You have the option to log into our online forums (links will be provided) if you’d like to discuss the prompts in a supported and moderated environment. We also encourage you to share your experience on social media using the hashtag #FSNEEquityChallenge.

SUMMARY:Concord - Crossroads Film Series: "Children of War" (POSTPONED)
DESCRIPTION:This event will be rescheduled for a future date. Stay tuned for details. \n  \nCrossroads Film Series: Breaking the Chains of Trafficking\n“Children of War” \nJoin the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire for a documentary film showing of Children of War\, which puts a spotlight on former child soldiers over a three year period from war-torn Northern Uganda as they try to heal mentally\, spiritually\, and emotionally from their trauma in a rehabilitation center. The film showing will be followed by a moderated discussion featuring Conrad Mandsager\, founder and CEO of the New Hampshire-based nonprofit ChildVoice which works to invest in the future of war-affected children and youth through education\, counseling\, professional development\, mentoring\, and more. We hope to see you there! \nTuesday\, April 7th\, 7 PM\nRed River Theatres\n11 S Main St #L1\nConcord\, NH 03301 \nTickets are $13 for the general public\,\n$10 for WACNH members. \nWatch the Trailer:\nhttps://youtu.be/mniAS78vjM8 \nAbout “Children of War”:\nFilmed inside the war zone of northern Uganda over a period of three years\, Children of War is a unique and incandescent documentary which captures the story of a group of former child soldiers as they undergo a process of emotional and spiritual healing while in a rehabilitation center. \nHaving been abducted from their homes and schools and forced to become fighters by the Lords Resistance Army — a quasi-religious militia led by self-proclaimed prophet and war criminal Joseph Kony — the children struggle to confront and break through years of brutal abuse\, extreme religious ideology\, and participation in war crimes with the help of a heroic team of trauma counselors. \nAs these fearless allies guide the children forward into new lives\, Children of War illuminates a powerful and cathartic story of forgiveness and hope in the aftermath of war. \nAbout ChildVoice:\nSince 2006\, ChildVoice has worked to restore the voices of children silenced by war. ChildVoice reaches out to adolescent girls and their children who are affected by years of war in northern Uganda\, South Sudan\, Nigeria\, and other at-risk countries\, providing center- and community-based programs. ChildVoice intercedes on behalf of these highly vulnerable child mothers and other victims of sexual violence and exploitation\, offering the counseling\, education\, and vocational training they need to rebuild their lives and regain their dignity. \nChildVoice empowers war-affected girls to lead productive\, economically advantaged\, and independent lives while contributing toward a better\, sustainable future for their children and communities. \nAbout Conrad Mandsager:\nThroughout his career\, Conrad Mandsager has provided program design\, development\, and evaluation services to numerous organizations seeking aggressive growth in new and existing ventures that serve at-risk populations. After completing his studies at Wartburg College and Iowa State University\, he held senior management positions with Prison Fellowship Ministries\, JAF Ministries\, and Dare Mighty Things. Mandsager is currently the CEO of ChildVoice. \nConrad grew up in Africa and has returned numerous times to work with disadvantaged populations in Kenya\, Ghana\, South Sudan\, Uganda\, and Zambia. \nIn 2006\, Conrad founded ChildVoice in response to the millions of children whose destinies are being destroyed by war. ChildVoice’s programs recognize that someone must speak for the voiceless and devastated children who often are unable even to whisper the horror of becoming young victims of brutality and inhumanity. \nThis project was made possible with support from:\nThe Lantos Foundation
