The current immigration crisis flooding our airwaves is the latest chapter in America’s long struggle with immigration policy. Join us for an interactive conversation between speakers and audience to Learn, Share and Activate.
Neighbors here in NH have been on the front lines since January 2017, as attorneys, witnesses and activists working to support and defend migrants and asylum-seekers under the ever-changing policies of the current administration.
Several members of the Concord, NH-based Kent Street Coalition’s Immigration Committee and others from the Seacoast community have travelled to the detention center in FL and Tx. Stories from Homeland Florida detention center will anchor the program and provide a basis for discussions of the efforts to oppose the policy.
Attorneys from the ACLU and will provide an overview of current US immigration policy – how we got here – and activists from the American Friends Service Committee will share the ramifications of these policies on the immigrant community here in New Hampshire.
Local Immigrant community activists will also share their perspectives. The evening is planned to be interactive – with ample time for Q&A and networking.
