Concord – Immigration: Reform for the Future

The Rudman Center at the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law, in partnership with the Concord Coalition and with the generous support of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, will be hosting a conference on immigration reform on Friday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m. The conference, titled “Immigration: Reform for the Future,” will focus on how sound economic policies are informed by sound immigration policies, and vice versa.

Featuring:

  • Ali Nooranipanelist, is the Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, a non-partisan advocacy organization working to promote the value of immigrants and immigration. Noorani is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
  • Jacqueline Varaspanelist, is the Director of Immigration and Trade Policy at the American Action Forum. Varas focuses her research on the economic and employment implications of both immigration and trade.
  • Ambassador George Brunopanelist, is Managing Director of USA Group International and practices immigration law in New Hampshire. He was appointed by President Clinton as U.S. Ambassador to Belize in 1994 and was the first Director of New Hampshire Legal Assistance.
  • Robert L. Bixbymoderator, is Executive Director of The Concord Coalition, a nonpartisan grassroots organization that advocates for generationally responsible fiscal policy.

Join The Concord Coalition and the Warren B. Rudman Center for a discussion on potential reforms to the nation’s legal immigration system that could address demographic trends, meet workforce needs, improve economic growth and more. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

This forum on immigration is in conjunction with a new, national project by Concord promoting a fiscally-responsible economic growth agenda, which you can read more about by clicking here. The topics highlighted by the project also include, health care reform, workforce development, Social Security sustainability, and investment in R&D.
