Keene – Italian Love Songs with Salvatore Basile

Italian-born singer Salvatore Basile came to America when he was three years old on the ship Andrea Doria, which sank three years later. He recalls developing his love of music as a teenager while listening to his father sing Italian love songs to his mother. It is his father “who showed me with his voice and guitar the beauty and power of music!” Now a resident of Wethersfield, CT, Basile sings in the rock band Dually Noted while also performing Italian songs as a soloist. On Saturday, February 17th at 2pm Basile shares the power of traditional Italian music with the Monadnock region by performing Italian love songs for the Valentine’s Day season. Each song is contextualized in English prior to singing in Italian.
