Manchester – “I’m a Good Person? Isn’t That Enough?” Lecture by Debbie Irving
February 21, 2019 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Free“I’m a Good Person? Isn’t That Enough?” Debbie Irving (February 21, Evening, Dana Auditorium)
Author of the widely popular book Waking Up White, Debby Irving will be in the Koonz Theater of the Dana Center on Thursday, February 21 to address several important issues in today’s society and how her book tackles them head-on.
Irving’s book incorporates her experiences of growing up while sensing inexplicable racial tensions in her personal and professional relationships, and worrying about offending people she wished to befriend. In 2009, her ‘aha!’ moment shifted her entire lifestyle, launching an adventure of discovery and insight regarding racial controversy.
As a part of the Courageous Community Conversations program, this lecture is one of many that seeks to empower community members to lead fuller lives by interacting across differences in race, creed, and color.
Come take part in enlightening conversation about the significant issues of today in the Dana Center! After the lecture Irving will be available for book signings and light conversation.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Register here
