The Chicago area has a rich history of immigration, a story that continues to this day: 1.6 million of the 9 million residents in metro Chicago are immigrants. Chicago has also been recognized as one of the most immigrant-friendly cities in the country, with various local government initiatives and a network of nonprofit actors that work to create an environment of inclusion.

Following the recently published report “A Global Welcome: Metro Chicago’s Approach to Immigrant Inclusion,” Welcoming America and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs invite you to a Zoom livestream event during which panelists will discuss the lessons learned in Chicago and how these policies of inclusion can be implemented in other contexts and cities.
