In 2014, the NH Immigrant Integration Initiative was launched by the Endowment for Health and supported by additional funding from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Through a competitive RFP process, the initiative brought together and facilitated place-based, cross-sector immigrant integration coalitions in Concord, Laconia, Manchester and Nashua, providing support for research, convenings, communication strategies, and technical assistance for work in local communities.

The Endowment for Health also provided support for a statewide Community of Practice (COP), composed of members from each city initiative and with meeting facilitation and technical assistance provided by experts from the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA Coalition). Welcoming NH was an active participant in both local integration initiatives and the COP. Much of the NH Immigrant Integration Initiative’s work remains ongoing in the four cities and through the participation of organizations and departments of these cities in the Welcoming NH coalition.
